New York circa 1865 attrib to Herter Bros, The shelf to hold the painting is adjustable, the finish is original & has been French polished, the shelf adjusts thru a mechanical mechanism that lifts it into brass grooves which is most unusual, there is a pad on the bottom which maintains worn original fabric
