The fabric is a true silk & is cranberry in color & is upholstered on both the seat and the back which is just the way it was originally done. The condition is great

A most elaborate and ornate Rosewood Rococo Revival pierce carved floral parlor set. Consisting of a triple back sofa and matching armchair. Heavily carved with several different flowers & pierced leaf & scroll work in the center, raised on Cabriole Legs with open arms. This set is definitely from an important New York manufacturer working circa 1850, is it Roux, Dessoir, Baudoine, these are some of the strong possibilities, others might say Meeks or Belter but I do not think so. This set has just been French polished and tufted in a rose damask fabric.

A block laminated rosewood Rococo revival laminated center table with applied carvings of leaves and fruits & flowers on the legs by John Henry Belter NY circa 1850, maintains original finish, white marble top is a probable 19th Century replacement, this table is now on loan to the Suffolk County Historical Society, Riverhead N.Y. exhibit on the Civil War, & is set in front of a Belter Parlor set. Victorian Rococo Revival 30 inch center table with original white marble inset top, table maintains its origianl finish. This is a definitely a New York High style table from the mid 19th Century.
