A rare & most unusual American Oak Newel post, with a beveled glass center which allows you to see the silk flowers that surround the gas pipe. A Monumental Bronze Gas Sconce, possibly a Newel Light, with 3 period bi-color globes with Neo-Grec heads. The body with full bodied Winged Dragon, Lady Liberty, holding a torch from which 3 winged Cherubs hold up the globes. Mounted many years ago on a wonderful wood column. Globe holders are replacements. close-up views just added, approx 100” tall, bronze lamp is 36” wide

A Cherub Newel lamp made for kerosene, usually these are gas, & to find one made for kerosene is difficult. The lamp has never been drilled & maintains its original hand painted globe, with a gorgeous bouquet in the front and back, the lamp is 37 inches tall to the chimney
