Victorian Hunzinger/Merklen Cheval Mirror

This is a wonderful Victorian cheval mirror by Merklen Bros, whose furniture is often misattributed to the furniture by Geo. Hunzinger of New York. The cheval mirror maintains the original mirrored glass and the finish has not be restored or polished and is original too. There is a small triangular piece of veneer missing on the left corner of the mirror, the glass knobs holding the mirror I believe to be replacements. The mirror is physically sound, however, a perfectionist, might be concerned by a wobbliness that exists because of the design. 34 inches wide, approx 78 inches tall, & 18 inches deep at the base. The cheval is Mahogany & the mirror frame is mahogany veneer.

A rare and unusual Stourbridge Victorian art glass epergne, This model has 5 fluted tulips with two glass canes with hanging baskets. The condition is excellent, the glass appears to be clear however, when photographing it, there is a definite vaseline tint to the glass, & rigoree, all the glass is trimmed in an unusual blue. In collecting these for over 20 years, I have not seen one with 5 flutes, nor a blue one. 20 inches tall and 16 inches wide

I would suggest rewiring. The chain link is gold and distinctive. This light just was removed from a Victorian Home on North Broadway, Saratoga Springs NY. The home was owned by the Jeffords family, which owned the famous horse Man of War.
